The key we found was in the rinsing and water temperature. Measure water temperature on the inside of your wrist and it should not feel warm. It's cooler than people like, but it's good for dry, itchy skin on yorkies. And rinse way more than you think is needed. Don't blow dry as that is very drying to the skin.
Also, if you need a finishing spray, spritz it onto your hands and gently apply to the hair, not the skin.
We had a mini-dachshund that would smell bad if her anal glands were plugged. Her ears could also smell bad if we didn't stay on it. We've been lucky not to have a dog with bad breath - yet. lol
Hope you solve the problem! | It's fine to bathe them weekly as long as your using a good shampoo. My vet actually wants me to bathe Callie weekly. When we had beagles growing up they got a bath only twice a year lol.
