The two younger ones ohhh my they would get it stuck in their mouths and each had had one cut off because we couldn't get to the buckle. It was my fault for not having them a bit tighter but it took them longer to get used to them then I thought. The youngest we got at 8 months and had never had a collar on so it has taken longer getting her used to it she likes to grab her tags and hold them in her mouth. It does take them awhile. The youngest also likes to take her brothers off and walk around with it. |
When our pup was little somehow after the collar was on and safely snug, she would somehow get her lower jaw under the collar and then be unable to recover. It was not safe. And with tags on, she would just be beside herself trying to bite them and pull them off. We tried a breakaway cat collar and sure enough she would get her jaw in and it would unlatch. Safer but didn't improve her ID. As a result, we put her tags on her puppia harness and she went collarless and chipped. We didn't need noise to find her when she was little as it's just two of us now and she just kind of stayed with us. Her collar arrived today and we promptly put it on her with lots of praise. So far, so good. We will only put it on when we are right with her until her stitch is completely healed since we don't want her to scratch at the collar in the area removal. Time will tell.
