I was also curious about his weight he might weigh 2 lbs now. Our vet says he is very healthy but just wanted to hear from others on personal experiences. Thank you all in advance. Gucci thanks you too.

A yorkie puppy is about the most wonderful experience you can have. So fun. So full of love and energy. Spend a lot of time holding, cuddling, and training and you'll be rewarded 10 fold. I am constantly amazed at the ability of a yorkie to relate to us as people. Our little girl knows us probably better than we know her!

As I have read all the comments in the forums, hacking and coughing seem to be a yorkie trait. Our little girl as she has learned to regulate herself seemed to know it got our attention and now uses her hack to get our attention. So, by all means rule out illness or structural stuff but don't let it cause you stress.

A lot of yorkies are bred to be small. Ours is 4 lb 5 oz at 2.5 years old. She's smaller boned. We actually looked for a breeder with pups more likely to be smaller dogs for my sake but steered clear of deliberate breeding for teacup size. However, we knew when we got her that the size of the parents is no guarantee of a smaller dog and we were fine with that. Your little guy will likely grow to 4 to 5 lbs of perfection.

Enjoy Gucci! Life will be an adventure from now on.
