Yup...thyroid can affect skin / nail health - so anytime I hear something really off/recurrent/persistent w/ hair/skin - I do think thyroid, and then Cushings (depending) as well, bc it also affects skin/hair so very much.
Years ago, while Wylie went undiagnosed for hypothyroid and Cushings by his former crappy vet - he was having some weird splitting too, it was so unusual...but later made sense.
