It is a shock I know to get this diagnosis. The same thing happened to me years ago.when my poor baby at 11.5 years suddenly became sick and even after considerable vet efforts and treatment she did not make it. Until this time she seemed very well and had all the dentals and vet visits and tests, so it was a devastating shock to us. Some dogs can survive well with hydration and special diets but in our case it was too late. There is an IDEXX test called I believe SDMA which can detect kidney function earlier, before it has reduced to 75%.
I do feel for you and pray that Moose can be treated and live a long and happy life. Please let us know how he is doing.

I am so sorry to hear you lost your baby to this disease. It is just shocking
and heartbreaking to say the least. Thank you for the prayers and thoughts.
