I would give up my summer vacation if it meant that our Bella didn't have to develop bad arthritis. Definitely consult with an orthopedic surgeon. They know much more about CCL tears than regular vets. Please do this sooner rather than later. Again, the VOSM clinic I linked to above is top notch, but if you find someone closer to you than that, that's fine, but please have your dog seen by a specialist.
