I never lost mama but I did have a litter of four and the last girl had to be put down. I was nervous about this litter because when I breed them, it is always supervised and timed. But in this particular breeding..... a week after the breeding.... the stud found his way to the other side of my home and before I knew it.... they were tied. The point is..... the last pup was born underdeveloped and would not survive. I've never lost any puppies before this so I was devastated. If I ever lost a mother..... I don't know how I would handle it. I would be very upset. I know a few of you said not to breed a family pet but I am a hobby breeder and all my dogs live with me and sleep with me and ofcourse I get bonded to them. How do you decide who is pet and who is breeder? |
