So thank you all for your replies especially the one about Anipryl. Yesterday the vet did an X-ray, I brought her in bcz she is gagging & coughing up mucus from her nose. The X-ray showed her lungs are clear but she has a lot of mucus in her trachea were it meets the bronchial. It also showed a strange thing on the top of her heart, the vet described it as a hat sitting on her heart. He has no idea what it is, he's never seen anything like it he says, it could be a tumor or an aneurysm. She would have to see a specialist. My husband & I decided against that for two reasons, her age & health coupled with the expense for one, and secondly she hates doctors! It doesn't feel right to stress her for something that may not save her. For right now she is on an antibiotic to see if it clears up, we should know in a couple of days. No solid decisions have been made however we are taking one day at a time & trying to decide what is best for her not us. |
