I decided not to get the Hills dd, I'm going to make her food myself so if any of y'all have trusted sources of suplaments or recipes for yorkie's with kidney disease please let me know.
Today I'm going to try & find a holistic pet store & look for something to help her sleep...any suggestions? My vet suggested melatonin or benedryl.
Thanks so much for the support everyone it feels like you care about her too, I'll keep you posted.
Though I think your instincts would be good if this were a younger dog, please, do not go to benadryl for sleep right now - trust me. I really wouldn't.

To me, it really does sound like dementia, and I really do think you should highly consider Anipryl - it can utterly *change* an elderly dog's life around, just like that. It can realllllly help their brain/anxiety/restlessness change markedly.

I know Benadryl sounds logical here, and I get where you're coming from...but it's not wonderful for elderly dogs or humans - it can have an opposing effect. The Melatonin may be more worth adding, though I wouldn't expect a large change with it...it's not really that kind of med...but like I said, may assist a tad.

Keep us posted. Hoping for great outcomes for you and your kiddo!
