My Duchess has bouts of colitis but she has never experience any pain with her colitis. My last yorkie went through something similar. The vet prescribe pain medication until we could figure what was wrong. Her pain was so extreme that it was blinding her. Her waves of pain was occurring monthly. I was reluctant to put her to sleep because in between those episodes she was fine. Unfortunately, my little one decided she wanted to go over the rainbow bridge and I let her go.
When they bump their heads and get stuck in the corners of the walls, that is a sure sign they are in extreme pain. My Brandi went through the exact same thing. You might want to do more extensive testing to find out what's causing the pain. If you ever see this, again she will need pain relief. My Yorkie's pain was so server, she went blind for the time she was in pain. That's when the vet prescribe pain meds for her. The pain meds worked almost instantly and basically put her to sleep for 12 hours. When she woke up, she would be okay. Unfortunately, her quality of life deteriorated in a month and that's when we both knew it was time to say goodbye. RIP Brandi. |
