The "looking thru you" and running/moving frantically sounds either like a seizure or reaction to extreme pain. The urinating and defecating can come w/ any seizure, but could also be from extreme pain.
Treat any colitis, that's number one.
If she has any seizures at all, she should be on seizure meds like phenobarbital or similar. What is she on for seizures?
I don't think any of this has to do with an emotional reaction to you being out of town. Except for the fact that colitis can be triggered/worsened by stress...as can anything w/ the GI.
So sorry she has gone thru this, bless her little heart. If/when you think she is getting doggie dementia, you may want to consider Anipryl.
