I have not lost a mother yet (and I hope I never do) but I did lose an entire litter 2 weeks ago. Mom went into labor a week early and delivered the puppies. They were alive and kicking. They had such a will to live but their little bodies were not ready for the world yet. They didn't live through the night. I had my clinic's mid-wife take them home with her to do her magic but not even Barb could save them. It was the most horrible thing I've been through thus far.
