The yorkie standard is not to exceed 7 pounds but yorkies were originally bigger and had been bred down. Sometimes you get throw backs or people breed bigger ones. Callie should be a pound lighter but it is what it is. Before I knew the extent of puppy mills I got her from a broker who got his puppies from a puppy mill. She has had lots of issues because of the bad breeding but shes my heart dog and I wouldn't change it for the world she knows when I'm having an anxiety attack or a panic attack and knows when one is coming and wont leave me. I can tell her to do things in a normal voice like I would talk to any other human and she does it. She understands English well. Joey was unwanted and was passed around this persons family several times at 9 weeks so even thinking I would never get a boy I went to meet this woman and she threw him in my arms and he kissed and kissed me she never said goodbye just took the money and put his stuff in my car. He was matted really bad, big thick chunks of eye gunk that was hard and required the vet to completely get off which showed irritation under it and they were feeding him adult diet food! He has no papers and a full tail but I love him. I'm far from perfect so I like to say I take the misfit yorkies
After Callie I learned pet insurance is a must especially with Joey since I knew nothing about his breeder or parents.
