It is the *exact* same shot, there is no different shot. The difference is by law - as to whether you're allowed to have it expire in 1yr or in 3yrs. So, you for sure want to stay on the every 3 year plan so you're giving less vaccines -- and this means you cannot ever allow that vaccine duration to expire before getting the next one by the correct due date. If it does expire, that means you get the vaccine, then you are forced to have a 1 year duration - at which time you get the vaccine again, and then you may have it expire in 3 years if you got it by the due date.

Hope that's not too confusing....?!
