I recently felt your frustration! In January, we adopted a 4 month old brother and sister. The boy, Basil, within a few days climbed the doggie gates. We solved the problem by draping a quilt over the gates and putting a chair in front of the gates. For some reason, he didn't chew or pull the quilt down. It took him about 2-3 weeks to get MY message...a gate means "stay". ha He and his sister will be 6 months old tomorrow...he doesn't even attempt to climb the gate even though he stands up against it wagging his tail! Hope this gives you an idea and hope.
