I am very sorry for your loss. I have raised yorkies for over 18 years and during that period I have lost a couple of litters due to early birth. One happened when the pregnant female was laying on the floor next to a arm chair and one of my other yorkies fell off the armchair and landed hard on the pregnant female. Within a few hours she started having pups and none of them made it. On the other occasion we had company for a few hours and I had put the dogs in another room and it stressed out the pregnant mom and she went into labor early. The lesson I learned there is that when a female is pregnant do not put her in a situation where she will get stressed out.

It is possible that your girl was just not able to carry such a large litter. Although I have had large litters in the past where all the pups were just fine is is possible with some females their womb just cannot handle a large litter.
