I had a little dog with diabetes. It was discovered on a routine visit to the vet... I had four pets at the time - and had noticed that I was filling the water dish more often, but really hadn't thought much about it.
My little dog wasn't sick at all and no symptoms whatsoever (other than drinking more water and peeing more often). She had to have two insulin shots a day for several years - and did just great. She stayed as healthy, happy, and playful as ever. When I had to put her to sleep - it was because of something totally unrelated to her diabetes.
My fear with your little guy - is that his symptoms and the way he feels make me think that his diabetes may be much more out of control than my dog's was when it was discovered. And for this reason, if it is diabetes, he needs to be seen immediately. Out-of-control diabetes is a very serious condition. I can't stress how serious this is.......... without saying that he quickly die
-quickly and suddenly- from this.
I'm sorry. Let us know what you find out.
