We had the meet and greet this evening. Thumper and Bella got along really well. Thumper kept putting his butt in front of her to sniff and his tail was wagging a mile a minute. It was adorable.
Bella is very skinny and small. I would say no more than 4 pounds. i can feel her spine. Hopefully if I adopt her and get her on the right food she will gain some wait or at least bulk out. She is very long in length but short.
She had some trouble walking on my hardwood floors and kept sliding. She also seemed to like the feel of my furniture and walls because she kept brushing herself up against them. Has anyone ever experienced that? I had a flash back of Boomer because it reminded me of what he was like before I had to put him down not being able to stand up and constantly falling down.
I asked the foster mom if she does this at her home and she said no. My first thought was something could be wrong with her neurologically. I think I have read too many stories on Yorkietalk.
I just emailed the rescue group and asked about next steps because she still needs to be fixed and the ASPCA will take care of that. I also asked if she has already been seen by a vet to determine if there are any serious medical issues. Is blood work normal to be done on dogs in a rescue/shelter? I really want to adopt her as she is really cute.
On another note I do have a home visit with another rescue group tomorrow morning so if this does not work out I still have other options out there.
