My Yorkie has been with me for 3 days. He stopped eating his food yesterday afternoon. Will drink small amounts of water...but won't eat. His Foster Mom said to add 1 tablespoon of pure pumpkin on his food...1 time per day. It worked on the first day and the following morning. Now he won't eat food at all...no matter how its prepared. Yesterday he was watching me eat my table food and was obviously hungry. So I gently took him to his food bowl and encouraged him to eat. Instead he walked away. He came back and took a couple sips of water then went to his crate. I understand...his world has been turned upside down...with new people and new surroundings. So I watch him and I constantly reassure him by giving him lots of love and attention. We practiced our commands from obedience class today and I rewarded him with treats...he ate them with no problem. I'm just not sure if he's sick or if he needs more time to adjust. Should I be concerned? Or just have more patience?
