I have taught all my doggies to swim. We don't have regular access to a pool but do to lakes.

Some dogs take to it right away some require a couple of seasons exposure to the water.

It is much easier to teach if you have built toy drive and if you have at least one dog who just loves it.

I have never forced any dog into the water, instead first exposure is on a hot day and we walk along shoreline. Then fetch retrieve toy alon waters edge.
