If I were to be looking for a puppy, I would look for a breeder that shows their dogs. A breeder that shows, breeds for their next champion, they research generations back to ensure there are no genetic defects. They put time, money and effort into getting quality puppies. You may pay more for the puppy but you will know you are getting a healthy baby and will save money down the road on vet bills. That is NOT to say a puppy from a show breeder will NEVER get sick. But that is the route I would take. There are many BYB (back yard breeders) I would keep away from craigs list.Research what ever breeder you are interested in. Good luck.
