you mentioned that this is your first yorkie, this is something you might not know because i did not with my first one and since you are walking him it's best for these little ones to use a harness to attach the leash to, don't attach it to the collar because you don't want to pull at their neck and if you ever have to lift him off the ground in a hurry like say a big dog is approaching off leash you don't want to do it by the neck. Also make sure you get a little name tag with your phone number on it for his collar especially since you said he likes to escape. I know it can be overwhelming with all the things to think of, i am on my 5th yorkie in 30 years and still keep learning new things. |
