I'm sorry Deuce hasn't been feeling well. Two of my Yorkies in the past had stomach issues, one with colitis, and the other with irritable bowel. They both were under the care of my vet, and their tummies settled down after a dosage of Centrine. They were sometimes given Metronidazole, as well, if they had any type of stomach infection. Ashley, who lived to a month shy of seventeen, was on Reglan for the last year of her life. She was the one with irritable bowel. She had a collapsing trachea, which wasn't very severe, but it caused her to take in too much air into her belly. She always had gas in her belly. Baby Gas-x helped her a little bit
I'm still quick to take Katie to the vet if she has any symptoms that don't go away right away. On two occasions she was on Metronidazole, but that was a few years ago. My dear friend's vet prescribed cut Tylan Powder for one of her dogs. She purchased it there. Whenever any of her Yorkies has an upset stomach, she gives them 1/2 teaspoon of cut Tylan Powder. On a subsequent visit she asked her veterinarian what it meant by it being cut. He told her she should buy Tylan Powder and put 9 parts unflavored Metamucil and one part Tylan to make her own. He told her it would last a lifetime for all of her dogs. Whenever Katie has an upset stomach, usually one dose of Tylan, and it does the trick. Sometimes it takes two doses, but it always works. If she had liquid diarrhea multiple times, I would go to the vet immediately, but for a tummy upset because she ate something a little different, this works beautifully. I also give Katie an excellent Probiotic daily, and that works great, too. I use Nature's Farmacy Probiotic Max.
I also wonder if Deuce had any stress because of Thanksgiving that could have contributed to hiss upset stomach. I hope he gets well soon.
