I just bought one yesterday for my babies to play outside in while I do my yardwork. I checked the petstores first and then I went to a store called "Tractor Supply" and they were 10.00 cheaper. I bought the 36" one (it was the smallest they had) and it is plenty tall enough for even a bigger dog. Thank goodness it is only for the out doors, it is big. I saw the smaller ones set up at the pet store (they were sold out though), and I think you would do just fine with the 24" one, especially since the baby will stay small. If in doubt , go for the 30" one........good luck.
