Well you are a stranger offering to "share a dog" how does SHE know you won't take off with HER dog that she is considering selling. I can understand her hedging. Just like you are doing "seeking" information, she is more then likely doing the same and getting negative fed back. It works out well for HER, she wouldn't have to sell her baby, she is free 5 days, it's like her baby going to day camp, having a good time, being cared for, it's all FREE for HER.
