As Joan said, the costs are very variable, but in New York they are higher than usual. My vet is very reasonable for a spay. I don't remember the amount, but he was very fair. I was able to take my little girl home that day. I advise doing blood work prior to a spay. It's safer, and I like having a baseline to compare against future blood work. I'm sure you can call vets to check on prices if you want.
