How is it going with your pup Rockon Jenn?
Have you read any books? I would highly recommend an easy, simple book called Raw for dogs by Carina Beth McDonald. My favorite starter book, and maybe the only one needed. I have a library full, but this one is the best IMO.
This is a great old thread. I haven't finished it yet, but I love seeing 8 year old info, super interesting actually.
Ive been raw feeding for 14 years now, and it is very simple for me, now. At first I spent months on end studying, measuring, scrubbing, bleaching.... now it is far more simple, easy even.
Though I prefer not to have to rely on a company mass manufacturing food for my pets, (kibble or raw), I think it is great that there are other options to use, until you are ready, and comfortable to feed your own version.
And for those who prefer to only feed the premade raw, they are already where they want to be, and I think it is great. It definitely has its benefits, especially that it is so tidy

and I have tried it with mine on occasion (though I find it cost prohibitive).
It is much better than doing a raw diet off the cuff, without real research into nutrition. Unlike some, I don't believe it is the only way, or the best way for everyone.
Anyway, I would love to hear how it is going with your pup, and raw.
