I just finished removing the tape off both of my puppies ears today. They were taped up for 5 days using the method where masking tape is wrapped in a circle around each ear individually and then a bridge of masking tape is used between the two ears to keep them erect. I shaved the hair off the front and back of ears as mentioned in other posts. Anyway, upon removing the tape, my puppies screamed and cried and it just broke my heart...I could hardly get the tape off....I thought I'm going to have to go to the vet and pay $70 for them to remove this d*** tape that I put on myself!!! What will my husband say about that?? LOL. I finally had the nerve to finish taking it off of them, and the ears of both of them are now drooping after only a few hours. I don't think I can bare to tape them again, but really want their ears to stand up, does anyone have any other ideas to get their ears to stand? By the way, I tried massaging, but don't know exactly how or where to do it. Or is there a better tape to use that will come off easier? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
