I have never had a problem with Metronidazole causing any health issues. It is the drug of choice for intestinal bacterial conditions. I would be more inclined to worry about the food you are feeding her....and the treats your husband may also be giving her. That said, sometimes they get pancreatitis no matter what diet they are on.

I personally stick with pet food companies I trust: Hill's Science Diet and also Royal Canin. I also use the Purina RX foods. One of my foster pups was recently hospitalized with HGE and lymphangectasia. She is on Hill's ID low fat and is really liking it. I know what they say about Hill's, but I have many years of taking care of pups ..my own and my fosters...and I have not had food related issues....and have not worried about recalls. That last factor is worth it's weight in gold to me.

Hope you find something that works for her.
