Nah, I doubt I'll ever forgive myself for this.

This new vet that performed the procedure asked if my previous vet had ever recommended a teeth cleaning, and he did not. I told him that I made sure to brush his teeth at least once a day and I never fed him "human food." Once in a blue moon I gave him a small piece of fruit (I know, I know, the sugar).

The only consolation I have is that he was already eating Honest Kitchen food, which is mushy to begin with, so I'll just have to increase the amount of water to make it a little more "soupy."

For the past few years now, I've been giving him these dry treats that I break up with one of those kitchen mallets (to balance with the mushy food). Luckily I have a coffee grinder on hand that I've been using to pulverize those things.
