My sister in law has a tiny 3lb Pomeranian that she rescued and he has no teeth. He eats dry dog food fine and he's healthy and happy. The one plus is that you won't have to worry about any more dentals! His tongue sticks out of his mouth a little and it's quite adorable. Don't be too hard on yourself, some dogs are just predisposed to bad teeth.
