Very nice to have access to a great pet ER. Sounds like the one we have, although ours is not university affiliated. I had to bring Max in once and having read horror stories about ERs, I was anticipating having to hand over my credit card with my pup. I was pleasantly surprised that the experience was like going to our regular vet, with only a bigger, yet reasonable charge for the office visit.
Absolutely! I was shocked that the basic ER charge was only $100. And I didn't have to pay until I picked her up. AND her attending veterinarian was board certified in internal medicine. They also sent me a PDF file of her veterinarian's notes--they were quite thorough. I can't say enough good things about the U of Illinois vet clinic!
