Been there, my now passed girl was 17 pounds, she had a beautiful sleek body, ppl would also ask me if she was a silky, I would tell them NO, she is AKC registered full yorkie. Several weeks ago I was at the vet with my adopted 12 pound boy. There was an elderly man with a tiny carrier waiting to sign in. Well Cody wants to take on a waiting room full of dogs so he called a "bit" of attention to us. The elderly man asks me what breed is my dog lol, I say a yorkie, He holds up this tiny carrier and says a yorkie? I have a yorkie, I tell him what a lot of ppl don't understand is, many yorkies are over the standard 5 to 7 pounds, he says 7 pounds, mine is 3.2 pounds, I laugh and say, great, but your baby can't jump off anything high and has very delicate bones, you have to be very very careful with yours, now my boy can leap and jump and be a crazy boy without me worrying he'll get hurt. Thankfully the receptionist called him, I was ready to blast him about breeders that breed for TINY dogs. ALL my passed yorkies were teapots, the smallest I had weighed 9 lbs. Larger yorkies fit my life style, my 12 pound boy to me in TINY after spending 17 years with a 17 pound girl lol. Don't feel bad, YT has a lot of teapots and have all heard the same as we have.
