So sorry for the loss of your sweet baby. I lost mine a few months ago, also from low protein, and I can tell you still today I question if I did the right thing in trying to treat the disease.
Looking back I now realize her last two months of life were spent trying to get her to eat, and/or shoving some kind of medicine in her. If yours had PLE, it is definitely genetic, and a good breeder will take those dogs out of their breeding program.
