It's important to watch for signs that they need pain medication.. Within an hour of bringing Piper home from being spayed, she was restless, could not get comfortable, and kept stretching her little neck. When I called my vet, she immediately knew Piper was hurtin' and told me to give her more pain medication right then (not wait two hrs as med bottle said). Dr. also said to give very small doses, but to give Piper pain pills as needed. By providing relief via medication, Pipe was able to relax, rest and sleep--which we all know is one of nature's best cure-alls--mid-day on day three, no more meds, Piper was back to being a goofy girl and FINALLY I COULD REST!!!
