Remember that crates are VERY small, confined places -- and not all living beings can tolerate that kind of space. None of my 4 could ever tolerate the crate, they absolutely hated it. I personally do not believe in forcing a dog into crating if they are unable to tolerate it. Instead, I used the Iris Pen (Walmart or Amazon) for them as puppies and kept their bed, pee pad, water, toys in there.
