Indoor 2 male Yorkies....9 year old and 5 year old Hi Everyone....I'm new to this!
I'm a grandmother to two male Yorkies. There used to be only one and because my son and daughter-in-law work long hours, they got a second male Yorkie.
The first Yorkie was great they said, would only pee on wee wee pads and never mark inside. They brought in a new puppy who is now 5 years old and never stopped marking on furniture and walls, although would pee on the wee wee pads. We noticed that the older Yorkie picked up the bad habit of marking from the younger Yorkie.
They now have kids, and the Yorkie's no longer get the attention they used to get. Also, because of the marking, they no longer have access to the whole house when they are left alone and no longer sleep in bed with my son and daughter-in-law because of the marking.
I walk the dogs during the day, since they work long hours and when I come inside the house, I see that probably the younger Yorkie (5 year old) peed on the leg of the dining table instead of the wee wee pad. I thought maybe this particular Yorkie prefers peeing on a vertical post instead of a flat pad. I put a pad where he peed on the leg of the table bc I thought that maybe he would get used to doing this on the pad instead, but besides doing it on the pad, he would also marked and peed elsewhere.....chair legs.
I read to maybe get a 2 liter bottle and place it in the middle of a pad and hopefully the vertical item will help with the one Yorkie to pee on the bottle.
They are locked up in the kitchen when the owners are gone, so they can't mark in the rest of the house and pee too.
