We have no clue what might have brought about this sudden change in her. She barely eats anything, and if she does, she's too weak to stand on her own so we have to hold her up. She barely drinks and her urine is a very dark yellow.

I remember my past Maltese suddenly acted strange one day, also around 8 years old. She would hide away, was not active, and just looked very unwell. I thought she was going to pass
We took her to the vet. The vet recognized that aging dogs will have joint pains and that sometimes the pain and discomfort will make them lose their appetite. She got put on some painkillers to help ease her joint pains and then she was on regular joint supplements and then she was back to her normal self. Later on at 17 years, her hind legs were crossing and then soon after she lost mobility in her hind legs. Apparently it's a degenerative disease where there's not much to prevent it.
But...she didn't vomit or run into things. So I'm not sure if the situations are exactly the same. Just wanted to share with you my story...
Have you gotten back the vet results yet? I really hope she's doing better!
