I brush both of my Yorkies every day. They both have a puppy cut. One of them never has mats but the other one ALWAYS does even with me brushing every day. Every time I take his harness off he has mats under his armpits and on his chest/belly. I've used a variety of different harnesses - top paw, puppia, Susan Lanci, buddy belt and more. After he runs around playing with my other Yorkie, he gets mats. After I give him a bath, dry him and brush him, he has mats. He has very, very fine hair so it gets knotted easily. It feels like every time o get one out another one appears. Does anyone know of a good detangler or some other product to PREVENT hair from matting that I can use on him daily? I did buy a detangler from petsmart and it isn't really helping.
