I know it's hard for you this situation! Like us if we have cough we know exactly how pain it is to our throat. But I found out that even it's sound terrible to hear your dog coughing like that don't worry he will recover soon on my research some of dog will recover even without a treatment, but it's better to consult your vet to give you some vitamins or antibiotic for his cough to make him feel better if the vet finds out that he need it.
