I'm not sure if it is true for dogs, but my hubs is on doxy for rocky mountain spotted fever and you cannot have dairy within 2 hours of taking doxy because the med will lose it's effectiveness. It's been a nightmare with hubs also. I have to watch him like a hawk to make sure he doesn't drink milk or eat dairy. I finally googled it and let him see that 25% of people without meds die with RMSF.

So, I would put the treat in something other than cheese. Nothing dairy.
