Last summer Piper was bit on hind leg/foot by an ant (I pulled it off). Piper wouldn't put her leg down and kept stopping to bite and lick at her foot--it was obvious she was in pain. I carried her the few blocks home where I immediately rinsed her foot with warm water, but then she started trembling and shivering-- which thankfully subsided after 1/2 hr. And that was one random ant bite (probably a fire ant). We never take that shortcut anymore...You must remember that these guys are just little-little and just don't have the capacity to handle things larger dogs can, i.e. ant bites, bee stings, etc. I'm glad your little one came through her ordeal with flying colors!
