Poor guy, sounds miserable. This hot time of year, some funky GI bugs may show up, so it may be that, and will resolve after settling down. But yeah, probably a good thing you're seeing the vet.
One thing I always, always give immediately when I see a GI upset is Benebac. It's a probiotic for stressed out systems and has always done me right. It's cheap and easy. I think the last time I bought it I got it either Amazon or Petsmart.
