I am amazed to see this thread. GiGi has had a sensitive tummy going on 3 yrs. now. It started one summer with mild loose stool that didn't clear up as fast as it should. Then it got worse every summer after that. She is now on only home cooked food usually boiled turkey with sweet potatoes. Being that she is pretty stable on that I started giving her a (human size) teaspoon of yogurt for the probiotics....should be good for the flora in the tummy.

A bout a week ago I gave her a little too much apple and now she is in the semi loose stool phase and had a day with no eating cause of the gas in the tummy (that is the rumbling you hear) when they choose not to eat. So I am feeding her white fish with bits of bread to try to clear up the loose stool so I can bring her back to the turkey and sweet potatoes. Btw the white fish is all she will accept to eat when her tummy is out of whack. Then she will get tired of that and we go back to the turkey.

I have learned to listen to what she wants to eat when her tummy is off cause she is always right. I used to try to give her dog food and she would eat it a get sick all over again...so I stopped all dog food...and she is much better and does not even miss it, not much anyway.

She has already been to a specialist and he checked her out and said feed her fat free and adjust her diet with food no meds.

So maybe we can all get together and figure this out. I believe it is colitis.
