and if you're ever shopping for dog toys, buy the ones that dispense treats. They can be distracted and be mentally exhausted by these toys because they'll always work hard for food/treats!

I too think it's good to have alone time for you and your pup (i.e. crate them or put them in their x-pen). They need to learn for their own benefit and yours how to relax and be calm when you're not around. It has a lot of pros down the road...

With Z, she's much smaller so I just wrap the treat ball instead of tying it. Sometimes, I'll put them in the bathroom and hide a toy somewhere in the house. And then I let them out to search for it. It's one of their fav games!
