I am still trying to wrap my brain around this injury. Both sides of the neck bruised equally? That would seem to indicate some kind of restraint was used. How-ever in all my years with vets doing a jugular draw there is no foreign restraint ie a noose or collar. Instead a vet tech usually lifts and steadies at the jaw so their neck is exposed for the vet to draw blood from.
I personally would want to understand this more.
Usually tracheas are damaged in vets office after anaesthesia - however a traumatic injury is also possible. Owners can damage tracheas through inappropriate use of collars and restraints.
