My now passed girl was 17 y/o when I had to put her down. She was 95% deaf, blind and dementia had started, I loved her even more. Even with the high cost of meds I wanted her to be with me forever. I wound not get another dog, a puppy, I devoted all my attention to her. It is 2.5 years she is gone and I still miss her terribly. To ME getting a dog is like the wedding vow.
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part.
