When Max was biting me at five months whenever I put on his leash, we tried a trick the vet did while giving him shots. I gently tapped his head while my husband put on the harness, and Max was distracted from the harness. After a few times, he figured out the harness was actually a good thing and meant going outside. Poor guy still hates to be groomed, by me or a professional. I try to do it when I can tell he's tired, and he usually puts up less resistance.
