If you want to follow the AAHA vax schedule, then yes, you need the puppy/adult boosters approx 1 yr from when he got his last puppy shots.

The distemper shot would also include parvo (good), and a couple other usual things (ie, a 5-in-1 shot).

I would not later be doing titers, as they are not indicative of much of anything since they only indicate humoral immunity, not cellular immunity...so do not waste your money on those.
