I free feed babies and encourage all my new owners to do so. They go out on Royal Canin puppy kibble. I dont let my babies leave until they are at least 15-16 weeks old..... I encourage free feeding until 8-12 months old, depending on size of pup.

I am afraid that it is a belief that hypoglycemia is a common, acceptable issue in all puppies....not true. Not all babies will fall over from hypoglycemia.....it is important they eat for a hundred other reasons, but hypoglycemia is NOT a "normal, expected" consequence of missing meals....none of my puppies has ever had low blood sugar, even when they may not be eating normal meals during the day.
